Back on Contract – MPSC II
February 8, 2012. On Tuesday, February 7, 2012, Spiral Solutions was notified by the Government that our recent award is once again being protested through the Government Accounting Office (GAO). Following that news, we were also issued a “stop work notice”. This means very little to those currently on contract, as the work will continue to be performed on the current MPSC contract.
There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that the GAO protest process may take as long as four months to adjudicate. Click here to learn more about the GAO protest process(GAO). The good news, however, is that we fully expect that the case will be either dismissed or denied (in our favor) and that we will be back on contract shortly thereafter. Until that time, we will continue to move forward in our transition process so that we are ready to assume the full responsibilities of this contract and support the Warfighter with the level of service they expect and demand.
February 3, 2012. As many of you have heard, we were informed last week that the MPSC II Source Selection Authority has upheld the 19 September 2011 award of the MPSC II contract to Spiral Solutions and Technologies. This decision came as a result of the corrective action taken by the Government in response to a GAO Protest. It appears that the log-jam surrounding this contract is coming to a close. You can expect further updates as we learn more in the next few weeks relative to the transition and execution of the MPSC II contract.
The key takeaway from this notification is that we have won the contract. Now it is time for Spiral Solutions to move forward and continue to process of transition into a leadership role. In fact, as of February 1, 2012, Team Spiral is back on contract fulfilling MPSC II duties. And we are expecting to continue to expand our responsibilities as assigned in the coming weeks with an assumption of much of the Mission Planning Support responsibilities as of April 1, 2012.
We will do our best to provide everyone presently working on the MPSC contract with information they will need to eliminate stress and understand the process for transferring Prime Contractor duties and responsibilities to Spiral Solutions. This includes email updates on status changes and notifications of new job postings. These emails will be sent to each of you on contract as well as anyone who is interested and signs up for additional information (click here to sign up).
Starting Friday, Feb 3, we will begin posting MPSC II jobs on this site. Our intent is to begin the hiring process from the top down. This means we will first fill the leadership positions of the team. The jobs will be posted for at one to two weeks. After resumes and applications are in, we will screen applicants, conduct interviews and make offers. One of the prime reasons we are hiring from the top down is so we can include the new management team in the selection and hiring process. It is our intent to make sure that we truly have the right people in the right position to make this contract work. Additionally, because there is additional processing associated with filling overseas positions, we will be accelerating the posting of the these SSR positions.
